Esther Asensio Casas

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Sciences and PhD in Analytical Science from the University of Zaragoza. Since 2001, I have been a member of the teaching and research staff (PDI) at the University of Zaragoza, currently serving as Associate Professor (Contratado Doctor) in the Department of Analytical Chemistry. I have supervised a large number of final-year projects (PFC), undergraduate dissertations (TFG), and master’s theses (TFM). I carry out research activities as a permanent member of the University Analytical Research Group (GUIA) at the University of Zaragoza. I participate in various R&D projects funded through both public and private calls, as well as agreements and non-competitive projects. My research lines focus on food packaging, covering both the development of new materials with enhanced properties (intelligent packaging and active packaging) and the study of consumer safety related to the everyday use of such packaging. I collaborate with companies in the sector that seek solutions to their challenges or aim to bring innovative, functional, and more environmentally friendly packaging to the market.
