      The University Research Group for Analytical Risk Assessment (GUIAR) is a research and development group focused on all aspects related to technological risks in industrial facilities and their environmental implications concerning chemical risk. GUIAR is integrated within the GUIA group (University Research Group in Analytical Chemistry) of the Department of Analytical Chemistry and is located at the School of Engineering and Architecture. Currently, the GUIA group is officially recognized as a Consolidated Research Group at the regional level. GUIAR began its activities in 1988, following previous work related to the drafting and implementation of Royal Decree 886\/88 and the Basic Directive of 1991. The founder of the group, Dr. Cristina Ner\u00edn de la Puerta, participated in all technical and administrative discussions prior to the drafting of these two national regulations, which enabled the implementation of Royal Decree 886\/88 throughout the country. Currently, GUIAR\u2019s activities focus on major accident prevention through the application and implementation of Royal Decree 840\/2015, which transposes Directive 2012\/18\/EU (known as \u201cSeveso III\u201d), as well as Royal Decree 1196\/2003 approving the Basic Civil Protection Directive for the control and planning of major accident risks involving dangerous substances. Additionally, the group works on the transport of dangerous goods by road and rail.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n
